DuoDERM Extra Thin Hydrocolloid Dressing is designed to reduce the risk of additional skin damage caused by friction and can be used as a main or secondary dressing. The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) and the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) both suggest the use of hydrocolloid dressing as part of the treatment of stage I and stage II pressure ulcers. In addition, it is an excellent alternative for treating dry to lightly exuding wounds, providing flexibility in wound treatment by securing various secondary dressings such as Aquacel or Aquacel Ag Dressing.
Featuring a thin polyurethane film, this dressing establishes a protective barrier against bacteria and viruses when undamaged and free from leaks, while also offering waterproof capabilities. It ensures gentle removal without causing harm to newly created tissue, reduces the risk of further skin breakdown because of friction, and protects against contact with clothing or bed linen. It is suitable for use on the body and can treat a variety of wounds, including skin tears, superficial wounds, and newly formed tissue that is prone to further breakdown.
